Cisco Cius Android Tablet - Fascinating

Android tablets are all the craze nowadays and many electronic or software providers are running head over heels to release an android tablet model. Part of the reason for this mad rash has been occasioned by the popularity of the android market. The android market contains thousands of apps that a user can download and then customize to fit into their need. The android operating system runs in many of these tablets.

Cisco, the dominant networking company has joined the bandwagon and released their own android tablet, the Cius android tablet, which is essentially targeted to professionals and business people. The tablet weighs about 1.15 pounds and has a seven inch widescreen VGA display. It also comes with two cameras:
One of the cameras is placed at the front High definition Unit, and has 720 pixel at about 30 frames per second. The other camera is placed at the back and is of 5 MB.This back camera can easily transmit streaming VGA video and also capture still photos. The tablet also has a number of audio applications. For instance, it has a dual noise canceling microphone which help one to concentrate as they are doing their work.

Of course, many people might now be wondering what the company had in mind when it came up with the two camera set up. As the world gets more globalised, there has been a tremendous rise on the need for executives from various parts of the world to communicate on a day to day basis. Hence, Cisco, being a business and communications solutions provider, implemented this system so as to be able to tap into this lucrative market. Of course, it would only be natural for Cisco to go into this direction as they have been in the networking industry for quite a long time. Cisco explains that this will revolutionalise the way health professionals administer treatment, the way retailers deliver services to consumers and the way universities are able to deliver fantastic education to their students. And Cisco being already a large provider of networking solutions, one can expect that they will offer an attractive price because of the economies of scale involved.

This tablet will come with a Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity although Cisco is yet to release the specifications for the RAM capacity, processor speed or the resolution and the display type.

Of course the memory size of the tablet will be increased by the presence of the USB and the micro USB slots.Bluetooth will be supported in the tablet as well as the accelerometer. Other Cisco apps will also be incorporated into this tablet. They include the Cisco Quad, Cisco Show and share, Cisco WebEx meeting as well as the center and Cisco presence. As can be expected of any android device, users will quite easily be able to email or chat with the many available messaging services.

Many enthusiasts are of course writing with bated breath as Cisco launches the tablet. Although the device will be primarily focused on professionals, some of the applications cut across and there is no reason why anyone should not anticipate the launch of this tablet.
